Address Verification and Earmark System (AVES)

With Salesforce integration and implementation, CSL delivered an Address Verification and Earmark System (AVES) solution making the client’s Weatherization Assistance Program a success.

Project Overview:

The Address Verification and Earmark System (AVES) is an address lookup and address confirmation solution to support the successful administration of the DOE. The project scope was to implement the AVES.

Local Service Providers (LSPs) needed AVES to confirm a residential dwelling’s eligibility for weatherization services. It was also a need for the department’s internal users to review the confirmation details, administer the system, and create reports.

The Challenge: 

The client faced various challenges regarding AVES requirements and the Traceability matrix. They faced issues with providing API to assist the vendor in reserving addresses for weatherization purposes.

The project consists of two main challenges:     

Integration of Salesforce with Microsoft Azure SQL Database with Mulesoft

Designing and implementing robust APIs

The client needed to connect different software systems smoothly to keep data up-to-date and allow different programs to enhance inter-system communication.

The client needed to build reliable and secure tools called APIs that let different systems and outside parties share information smoothly. Thus, operational efficiency and business processes needed to be addressed.

(A) Mulesoft Implementation


CSL adopted the Application Programming Interface (API)-led approach to configure Mule applications. Within this framework, we established a crucial link between the client database and Salesforce, facilitating the seamless data flow.


(B) Design & Implementation of robust APIs


CSL incorporated strategic business logic directly into the Mule application and delivered a comprehensive suite of four APIs tailored to the client’s specific business requirements:

Search API: This API seamlessly searches for the provided address in Salesforce, conducts validation using SmartyStreets API, and checks address availability for confirmation.

Earmark API: It is designed to confirm/earmark the available addresses and generates unique API confirmation codes for each earmarked address.

Add & Earmark API: This dual-purpose API adds addresses to Salesforce and earmarks them in real time, streamlining the process for immediate confirmation.

Aging Report API: This API generates detailed tables, providing confirmation details within a specified timeframe and enhancing agency-specific insights.
